All Who Dwell on the Face of the Whole Earth

I have previously demonstrated that at the "end of the age"  there will be a harvest, and "the field is the world"  (Mt.13:38). Next we will examine verses that go into more detail in regard to this harvest. The Lord Jesus says that His coming that there will be a judgment on "all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth":

"And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory...take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth" (Lk.21:27,34-35).

Revelation 13

Let us look at verses in the Revelation which also speak of "all that dwell upon the earth":

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea...And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb"  (Rev.13:1,7-8).

Gary DeMar says that the "beast" who will be worshipped by people from "all tongues" and "all nations" was "Rome under Nero": "Nero was the 'man' and 666 was his number" (DeMar, Last Days Madness, 259,261).

However, Gary DeMar fails to address the fact that those who worship the beast, all "whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb", will "drink of the wine of the wrath of God":"If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation" (Rev. 14: 9,10).

Next, John describes the Lord Jesus exercising the wrath of God to all those who worship the beast, those who are described as being "all kindreds, and tongues, and nations":

"And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle...And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped" (Rev.14:14,16).

There has never been a time when the "earth was reaped" and all non-believers were judged and punished. This judgment of the day of the wrath of God revealed at Revelation 14: 9-10 has not yet occurred. Despite this Gary DeMar says that "the judgment visions of Revelation 4-19 apply 'to the historical turmoil which came to a head shortly after John wrote. The fulfillment of the majority of its prophecies would then apply to the very beginning of Christianity, rather to its conclusion " (Ibid., 257).

Gary DeMar says that the prophecies which speak of the earth being reaped have already been fulfilled. In saying this he discredits Scripture by frittering away the meaning of plain words in order to find the fulfillment of them in past history. He turns his ears from the truth and continues to mislead others into believing fables.
